Spotify does not pay a fixed rate per stream: it shares its revenue according to each track's share of listening, then the money goes through your distributor or label. Public estimates sit around a few tenths of a cent per stream. Since 2024, a track needs more than 1,000 streams over 12 months to earn anything.

What it means

To earn the equivalent of one €10 purchase, you need several thousand streams. Streaming is for being discovered; income comes from the people who want to support you.

How to earn more

Keep streaming for discovery, and offer directly what streaming does not: vinyl, long versions, early access, limited editions, monthly support.
