DistroKid, TuneCore and the like versus selling to your listeners: who pays you, how much, and when.

A distributor puts your music on streaming platforms and pays you per stream. Direct sales let the people who follow you buy from you, at your price.

The distributor

You upload once; your tracks appear on Spotify, Apple Music and others. You are paid per stream, through the distributor.

Direct sales

You set the price, the buyer pays you, and you know who bought. On HYK the artist keeps 100% of the price; the buyer pays a 10% service fee on top.

Use both

Distribute singles to be found. Sell directly what is rarer: full projects, vinyl, early access, exclusives.

Next step: Open your HYK profile at app.hyk.media. Then read the Payments guide.
